What is the Halo Laser Skin Treatment?

The Halo skin treatment is a revolutionary laser resurfacing treatment that combines ablative and nonablative lasers to treat both the top layer of the skin and the tissue beneath the surface for an all-in-one, incredible skin rejuvenation treatment providing you with youthful, glowing skin.

Your skin is subjected to many different external factors that can cause aging such as sun damage, loss of collagen, and pollutants. You can’t help being subjected to these factors but with our Halo laser skin treatment, we can push back the clock and treat your fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and more.

The Halo laser by Sciton® is the first hybrid fractional laser using cutting-edge technology in anti-aging. Unlike other laser treatments which are ablative or nonablative, your Halo treatment combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to the same microscopic treatment zone! This means that you can attain incredible results with minimal downtime, minimal discomfort, and maximum results.

What Skin Conditions will the Halo Laser Treat?

Halo laser treatment remedies the following skin conditions:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Sun damage/dyschromia
  • Skin resurfacing
  • Scar revision (including acne scars)
  • Signs of aging
  • Pigmented lesions
  • Improves the appearance of enlarged pores
  • Medical dermatology/actinic keratoses

How do Halo Laser Skin Treatments Work?

Halo laser skin treatment uses two wavelengths. One bypasses the outer part of your skin to allow treatment of abnormalities underneath the surface. The other treats the epidermis, the outer skin, to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles. It also addresses solar damage and stimulates collagen for more radiant younger-looking skin.

Ablative skin laser treatments are the most effective method of treating aging skin. Ablative skin lasers deliver a wavelength of light to the skin which removes the outer layer of skin affected by sun damage which can improve fine to moderate wrinkles, age spots, uneven skin tone, sun-damaged skin, freckles, acne, or other facial scars.

Nonablative laser skin treatments also treat wrinkles, skin spots, wrinkles, and facial scarring by creating heat under the skin’s surface without resurfacing the skin. Nonablative laser treatments promote collagen production which produces skin-tightening giving your skin a youthful, healthy glow and anti-aging benefits!

Benefits of Halo Laser Skin Treatment

Halo laser treatment has the following advantages over other types of skin treatments:

  • No need for nerve blocks
  • Less overall pain after treatment
  • Ability to put makeup on in just one day after the treatment
  • The short duration of peeling
  • Ablative-like results while allowing patients nonablative-like downtime

What to Expect During and After Your Halo Laser Treatment

Before your Halo laser treatment, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the skin to slightly numb the area. Our handheld Halo hybrid fractional laser will be used to combine the benefits of an ablative and non-ablative laser to focus the laser’s energy towards the deeper collagen layer of the skin.

Your treatment will last around 30 – 45 minutes, depending on the area being treated and additional in-office time after the procedure should be considered. Redness, swelling, and warmth of the skin should be expected for a day or two post-procedure.

Forty-eight to seventy-two hours after the procedure patients will notice darker spots on the skin in the treatment area, this is the collagen layer of your skin is rejuvenated! Your skin will peel in the treated area and may last from 5 – 7 days and up to two weeks. During the first three months, we suggest a generous supply of sunscreen applied to the treated area.
